Ours was a journey shaped by presence, listening, and small gestures
This journey also grows out of a life dedicated to volunteering: from Civil Protection work, to bringing smiles as a hospital clown, to the birth of Smailers itself
We learned that helping doesn’t simply mean doing something for someone, but being there. Always
It all began with Giocondo, whom we met after the earthquake in L’Aquila.
With him we understood that bringing a smile and calling someone by name is already a form of care
Today Smailers is a community still on the move
with new projects, new stories, and the same care as always
Because memory is not the past. It is responsibility.
